3 CREATIVE PROJECT Creative project Kelvin Chu 04/27 Creative project This project aims to develop a plan to help an existing business become green, thus helping in the conservation of the environment. I would like to pursue the idea to help milk processing plants and small businesses improve their milk packaging such that only environmentally friendly packaging is used. I propose packaging like decomposable cartons or paper to be used in milk packaging both for retail or wholesalers instead of plastic bottles and plastic papers. I decided to help conserve the environment by helping to reduce the number of plastic papers that people throw away after consuming their milk. When thrown away, plastic bottles cause an unpleasant environment, and when they have swept away into rivers and lakes, they will cause adverse effects on aquatic life.
The use of plastics during packaging also allows the leaching of chemicals from the plastics and into the milk, which will eventually get into our bodies when we consume the milk, thus bringing health challenges after use for a long time. I did this project individually, and my thinking was inspired by the various environmental effects of plastic that I have come across in real life and through media platforms. Environmental pollution by plastics affects everyone. By coming up with this project, I will be helping to bring a solution to the current plastics problems, even if it will happen in a small area only. (Rhodes, C. J. (2018).
I expect that the small businesses will implement the project with immediate effect because it will help them solve a long-term problem. Six months is enough for the idea to be implemented by large businesses and production facilities. To ensure that plastics used for packaging are eliminated with time. The steps to be followed in producing these packaging include presenting proposals to production companies, notifying the responsible certification bodies, and introducing the new product to the market.

Every year, millions of tons of plastic debris enter the oceans, threatening marine life and disrupting ecological balance (Jambeck et al., 2015). Chemicals such as Bisphenol A (BPA) that leach from plastic containers can disrupt endocrine function and have been linked to various health issues, including obesity and cancer (Rudel et al., 2011).
Given these concerns, transitioning milk packaging to eco-friendly alternatives offers substantial benefits. This effort not only promotes sustainability but also aligns with evolving consumer preferences towards greener practices. Studies indicate that consumers are increasingly inclined to purchase products with sustainable packaging, reflecting a growing demand for eco-conscious business practices (Statista, 2021).
