As more individuals enter the age bracket of 65 and older, there is a corresponding rise in the prevalence of chronic conditions that require efficient EHR management (World Health Organization [WHO], 2023).

Urban vs. Rural Disparities


A significant challenge to EHR systems is the disparity between urban and rural healthcare services. Urban areas often have better access to technology and infrastructure, while rural healthcare facilities may face challenges like poor internet connectivity and financial constraints, limiting their ability to implement EHR systems effectively (Bashshur et al., 2016).
