Solving problems effectively requires people to stay calm and determine any solution logically. Having the skills of solving problems may assist leaders to quickly make decisions, resolve difficulties with their group and make sure that projects are completed on time. Creating and maintaining a resilient and cooperative team that is striving towards achieving similar goals is also important in leadership. Building a team needs other leadership skills like effective communication and resolution of conflicts (Hackworth, et al., 2018). Having a strong relationship is among the most important aspects of leadership roles because it facilitates the communication of tasks, responsibilities, and objectives more effectively.
Decisiveness is essential because effective leaders include those who can make decisions swiftly with the data at hand. Decisiveness is measured as an important leadership skill that can assist in moving projects quicker and enhance effectiveness. Integrity is commonly seen as honesty although it might also imply possessing and standing by a collection of strong principles. It implies having the ability to make ethical decisions and assisting the organization to uphold a positive image. Having integrity as a leader enhances the most honest and fair practices and also demonstrates a solid and positive example to one’s team (Guzman, et al., 2020).
Being a reliable leader shows that individuals may trust and depend on you and one has to follow through on all plans and keep promises. Resilient relationships that have been created by a reliable leader form a resilient group that can go through various challenges that might come up as they work and resolve them appropriately. After watching numerous videos during class, I learned that being a leader does not require having specific and correct qualifications. Anyone can be a leader. Being an effective leader is different. It is about how one is capable of influencing their group positively while guiding them to achieving their goal. Leadership uses mental skills such as having the right mindset when leading people.
Being able to adapt and be flexible in dilemmas is crucial since resolving problems often occurs when leading. The video teaches us, students, how to be an effective leader rather than being a leader. An effective leader often shows progress towards achievement while satisfying the followers. To become a so-called “effective leader†building trust among the group makes everything go smoothly and efficiently. Everyone can become comfortable and confident allowing them to participate easier.
As people tend to participate, it will create a domino effect causing others to join in. One part that stood out to me was hearing “leadership starts with leading yourself.†I did not understand it at first because I questioned how I can lead myself and when I should lead myself. I learned that there are three imperative questions we have to ask ourselves. What is our purpose in life? What is our vision for the future?
Lastly, What are our values? Having the answers that all correlate to each other means that you are on the right path to becoming an effective leader. Communication is also important, without communicating correctly to others, progress wouldn’t be possible. Everyone would be confused and lost and everything becomes chaotic and stressful. An example of this is whenever I am watching a Master Chef episode, the leader crashes and becomes emotional while the team is lost.
Communicating should also be done collaboratively, everything is more productive this way since it has all of their ideas pitched in. Being open-minded is critical. One has to learn how to see from others points of view and to be open-minded about the worst-case scenarios. It is always better to be prepared for anything that may interfere. I learned that goal achievement, smooth internal process, and external adaptability are strong examples of an effective leader.

These skills not only serve to motivate individuals toward the completion of their tasks but also ensure that projects progress within stipulated timelines (Hackworth et al., 2018). A leader's ability to solve problems effectively is particularly crucial in any workplace, allowing them to quickly navigate challenges that may arise during the execution of tasks.
Problem-solving skills play a significant role in leadership, requiring composure, logical thinking, and the capacity to weigh potential solutions against anticipated outcomes. A leader adept at problem-solving is positioned to tackle challenges swiftly and facilitate effective collaboration within their team. This further emphasizes the necessity of building a resilient and cooperative team that can collectively work toward achieving shared objectives.
Effective communication lies at the core of successful leadership. Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with team members allows leaders to clearly articulate tasks, responsibilities, and goals. As I delved deeper into the videos, I learned that effective leadership transcends conventional definitions and requirements. Rather than being confined to traditional qualifications, effective leadership is about influencing others positively while guiding them toward their goals. From problem-solving and team-building to communication and integrity, these elements work together to create a positive and productive environment. My exposure to various leadership concepts has empowered me to understand that anyone can become a leader; however, it is the effective leader who inspires others to achieve common goals. By emphasizing trust, adaptability, self-awareness, and collaboration, one can nurture an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute (Schein, 2010).
Moving forward, my understanding of leadership will undoubtedly shape my approach in any collaborative setting, helping me to cultivate a productive and inclusive environment, leading by example, and always striving toward excellence.
