The fire safety policy for our childcare facility is designed to educate children aged four about fire dangers, proper responses during a fire emergency, and preventive measures to ensure their safety. The key components of the fire safety policy include:
1. Understanding Fire Risks: Children will be taught about various fire hazards they may encounter, including matches, lighters, and dangerous situations like cooking fires and fireplaces. This will help them identify potential dangers in their environment.
2. Fire Drill Protocols: The school will conduct regular fire drills, where children will learn to evacuate the building calmly and quickly. Children will be instructed to stay low to the ground where the air is less smoky and to follow designated escape routes.
3. Calling for Help: Children will learn how to call for help in case of a fire by understanding the importance of alerting an adult and dialing emergency numbers if necessary.
4. Stop, Drop, and Roll: A simple and effective method used in fire emergencies, this technique will be taught in a fun manner, fitting the cognitive level of 4-year-olds.
