Prior to enrolling in this class, my understanding of global health was limited. I recognized it primarily as a field concerned with combating infectious diseases and improving overall health in low-income countries. However, this course illuminated the complexity of global health issues, revealing the interconnectedness of health, economics, politics, and environmental factors. Through research for this final paper, particularly about the impact of climate change on global health, I learned about the multifaceted challenges that nations face. I discovered how climate-induced phenomena like extreme weather can intensify health issues, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations (Balbus et al., 2016; Haines et al., 2006). This course has significantly enriched my perspective on global health, enhancing my awareness of the critical issues that shape health outcomes worldwide.

Its implications transcend geographical boundaries and socioeconomic status, affecting every aspect of human health and well-being.
