Scientists know about a mass extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs in a very short time. Describe a possible cause of this mass extinction and two consequences that may give scientists cause for alarm about the possibility of future mass extinctions. (3 points) 6. During the 1990s, natives of tropical islands began collecting wild turtles to sell in the United States as pets. One of these turtle species, a voracious carnivore that feeds on shrimp and snails, was especially popular. Recently, the U.S. government banned the import of these turtles as pets. However, pet owners have released large numbers of unwanted turtles into warm natural waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Predict two possible consequences of the release of these turtles into Gulf waters, including the effect on native turtle species. Justify your response. (4 points)

Consequences which are acting as an alarm for future Mass extinctions :

1 global warming is one such consequence. The is done by the presence of carbon dioxide which is mainly created thorough anthropogenic activities. This is causing the melting off glaciers.

2. Ocean acidification which is majorly is cause of concern for the Flora and fauna of oceans and also present on the Earth.
