The literature and Biblical views on Environmental issues and conservation

In the very first chapter of the Bible, God instructs the representatives of the human race, Adam and Eve, to “fill the earth and subdue it”.  The Bible also teaches that although God allows people to utilize elements of the environment, God retains ownership of all His creation. Thus it is the duty of every human being to take care of his environment and not to overexploit it. Environmental activists promote awareness and action at the church, community, and national levels. Christian environmentalists emphasize the ecological responsibilities of all Christians as stewards of God's earth.

According to Bible, Adam's early purpose was to give care to the Garden of Eden:

"And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."
