Question

Pop Art, the visual art movement characterized a sense of optimism during the post war consumer boom of the 1950's and 1960's. It coincided with the globalization of pop music and youth culture, personified by Elvis and the Beatles. Pop Art was brash, young and fun and hostile to the artistic establishment. The common thread was an interest in mass media, mass-production and mass-culture.

You Warhol fans out there will appreciate this! So I was in a 7-11 about a year ago to get something to drink and found Perrier has used Andy Warhol’s series of Perrier bottles and put them on the labels. I have to tell you after a long day of teaching ceramics, hot, tired and clay all over me this made my day!

So how has Pop art continued on currently? (Besides my Perrier bottle) What visual mass media do you come in contact with that could be considered visual art?

Explanation / Answer

Pop art is nothing but a visualization of things in reality. Whatever may be the art,it turns into a real one by means of pop art. In simple words non living things are beign given life through art. They seem to be very real than the original sources. Pop art continues to stand in field even today. In recent advertisements, the presence of lion or tiger in the ads is not real but is made possible with the help of pop art . The animals are virtually shown to be real even though they were initially drawn with help of pop art and then they were bought to life by graphical effects.
