Question

Men may see themselves as victims of reverse discrimination when referring to their gender roles and expectations. Males are raised at an early age to have the “expected” expectations of what a boy/male is supposed uphold. For example, men are supposed to be aggressive, competitive, strong, muscular etc. these are characteristics of some traits parents/society tell men they “should” be. When a male fails at these traits society tend to look at them differently that they are not “good” enough for us or we discriminate them believing they are not what we wish them to be. Gender roles play a specific part in everyone’s life including men. For instance, the usual gender role of the men is to provide for their family and have a good job. If the male is the caretaker of the house and children while, the female is out working and providing for the family, the male is looked down upon. The discrimination the male would receive would be that they are not considered a “man.” I am on the fence when deciding whether these views are justified or not. I do not think there is a legitimate reason why males should be discriminated against when it comes to reverse discrimination. I will say, I do tend to look more for the manly roles and the main provider. I do believe that every family does things differently so it is whatever works for that specific family. I do not think it is necessary to discriminate against characteristics though because looks and traits mean nothing it is the heart that matters. I do not look at any male and think they are loss of a man due to their roles.

Explanation / Answer

In my opinion the passage tends to hyper role of male that should not be accepted by society because the first thing for building faith in institutions like society or family is mutual interest. But in passage their are not anything for what roles played a woman to look after her family.

So i am not satisfied of the given view.
