Fall 2017 Write a 3 page essay addressing the following question You have been hired bya America) to create a long-term (20 year) development plan to bring economic prosperity to the country. You have been hired because of your expertise in Latin American history In your essay you must a) Define what you mean by economic prosperity b) Identify what you consider to have been the 3 main obstacles (economic, social and political) to attaining such cconomic prosperity over the course of the modern period in Latin America. Give specific examples for each from any of the countries we have studied c) Propose 3 solutions in each of these areas that will help to overcome these obstacles ( you can use your creativity here).

Explanation / Answer

Economic prosperity: Economic prosperity is where the nations GDP will have growth sustainability for years with out effecting countries growth. There will be increase in sustainable and non sustainable growth of income to the country. Due to this there will be no decline in economic life life style or standards of the people in that country and also does not endanger the sustainability of both natural and environmental resources.

Economic obstacle: The growth rate is not stable in Latin America.

From the past 15 years there is no stable in growth in economic standards of that country from their previous years. It is due to weak economic global awareness, economic sluggishness and independent entrepreneurship in this country. The government should try to make foreign countries invest more in their country and try to raise foreign investments which will lead to economic growth and stabilization in their growth.

Political obstacle: Corruption is always a major problem in any country because if their is government which supports corruption will always lead to major problem such as variation in standard living of the people. So the government should always be independent and should always be against corruption which will be a main step for development.

Socio economic obstacles: Unemployment

Unemployment is one major obstacle in any country because it will effect the economy as any country with unemployment will always be backward because the youth will be unemployed and due to this there may raise in crimes.

The government should be able to encourage entrepreneurship and also provide employment oppurtunities for the people.
