Please type down (easy for me to copy and paste) your response (thoughts) after your reading the following paragraphs. (min 5 sentences, around 150-200 words)

Throughout the video, Oliver Scalabre mentions that we are facing a drastic growth and productivity decline and that is time to finally take action and think about a new manufacturing revolution. After analyzing his arguments, I agree with his vision and his perspective. The truth is that if all these big manufacturing revolutions provided a big growth in the economy so why not keep doing the same thing if it's proven that it works?

In addition, he believes that manufacturing robots are the solution for the stagnation that we are facing at the moment. These robots would be able to do complex, non-repetitive tasks and, as a consequence, they would be able to increase the productivity, then more outcome and, at the end of the day, more growth in the economy. He also states that these robots would only help us with all our tasks but the truth is that the human being easily gets used to the idea of using technology as a solution and might get dependable on its use.

At this point, I truly believe that even though technology can helps maximize a lot of aspects in our work place, it's up to us to decide if we really want to use this wisely and create more outcome and eventually more growth in the economy so that we can provide a better future for our kids.

Explanation / Answer

The advent of robots in industrial manufacturing has led to rapid improvement in productivity and at the same time a rapid loss of job for industrial workers as most of the jobs that human beings used to do previously is now being done by machines. Most of the industrial workers who have lost jobs are unable to find employment as they lack skills and a vast majority of them remain unemployed for the rest of their lives. Even though manufacturing robots have increased economic output, the consumtion of these output is facing decline due the declining buying power of consumers.

Due to job loss and other economic pressure, the consumption of output is not the same as the production rate and most of the items produced remain unconsumed. For industries to remain competitive a reasonable adoption of manufacturing robots is desirable but when these robots start performing non repetitive taks which require human intelligence then such a situation can have disastrous consequences for the overall economy . Therefore there has to be fine balance when adopting technology in manufacturing and industry must ensure that manufacturing robots aid human beings in production activities and not replace them completely.
