Question
I need to write an weekly accounting-internship report for my accounting class (first week of internshp) which will answer these two questions:
1) What you did this week and what you learned from it?
2) What problems/questions arise from doing work this week?
You can use below job duties and write a sample of short weekly internship-report.
-Shadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties.
-Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
-Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation
Explanation / Answer
It was a pleasant though hectic day of office this week. All the transactions from sales/purchase/administration department are recorded. All the cheques deposited and issued are also recorded. All the transactions are recorded by one and authorised by another so that no mistake is done in maintaining records. In the later stage takes place the maker checker part. Where the jobs are changes and transactions of one another are checked and tallied from invoices. By the end of the day, the bill receivable account and bills payable account are reconciled with bank statement so as to check that we are on same page.
If there is any transaction missing, it is necessary to incorporate the same and make sure all the entries are done accordingly.
It is very necessary to coordinate with all the departments as their information is important with the view of accounting records, and also it is necessary to reconcile the records with bank account statement. While auditing, it is necessary to be fair and check all the transactions. So that we know that we are on right track and no transaction is missed. Same is shared with HODs so that they are well informed of their respective work and performance of departments as whole.
I hope its presise and enough. do let me know if you need any more information.
