Question
Please help me out guys, this is not a course of my major and not very good with it.
Question 1 0 pts An air parcel in the Northern Hemisphere at a latitude of 50 with a velocity 20 m/s anda direction of 270° in math angle. What is the magnitude of the Coriolis force in 10 m s (1 decimal place)? (Multiply your number by 10 and enter it.) Question2 0 pts An air parcel at a latitude of -20° with a velocity 30 m/s and a direction of 110 in math angle. What is the initial direction (math angle) of the Coriolis force (0 decimal places)? Question 3 0 pts An air parcel at a latitude of -49° with a velocity 40 m/s and a direction of 2300 in math angle. What is the initial direction (math angle) of the Coriolis force (0 decimal places)? Question 4 0 pts An air parcel at a latitude of-170 with a velocity 40 m/s and a direction of 220° in math angle. What is the initial direction (math angle) of the Coriolis force (0 decimal places)? Question 5 0 pts If the pressure gradient is 13 hPa over 8 hundred km in the x-direction and the air density is 1.23 kg m , what is the pressure gradient force in 10-4 m s% (to 0 decimal places? Multiply your answer by 10" and enter it.)Explanation / Answer
Solution:-1. The 40 degree is the coorect answer by using the property of dot product.
Dot Product :-The angle in between the coriolis force and velocity is 90 degree and math angle is 270 degree.
So, 270+50+x=360.
x=40 degree.
