1. Sample 1 is obsidian. This is an igneous rock. This is a volcanic glass that is formed when the lava gooled immediately after reaching the surface. It has a smooth texture and looks glassy.
2. Sample 2 is also an igneous rock. Its name is Diorite. This has silicate minerals in it. This has mafic to felsic granite chemical composition.
3. Third sample is Gneiss. This is a metamorphic rock. The foliation of this rock says that this is gneiss as it may be an igneous or a sedimentary rock.
