Question

I'm trying to work through Chapter 11, Problem 11.13 of David Romer's Advanced Macroeconomics. When I try using the online solutions manual on Chegg the answers to part (a) are unreadabl;e because the image files are incredibly zoomed-in. Specifically, after the sentencing declaring the substitution of textbook equation 11.53 into the social welfare equation, all that is displayed is a blurry image stating 0<p<1/2. Also, the final solution is zoomed-in, although if the previous part of the solution weren't I might be able to arrive at this final solution anyway. I'm hoping an expert can recreate the steps for this part (a) of this problem, or at the very least provide readable version of the images I'm having trouble with. Thanks.
