English is the only global language, It is certainly not important for english speakers to learn any other language, but to understand foreign country very well one need to go very deep and know the langauage very well, Speaking in local dialect will certainly give you much more advantage and respect among locals.

Language is very important aspect of culture, That is how we communicate no one can discount the importance of language,

China is a country with most english learners today, They are trying to learn english in a large way, They know very well that if once china become global power they would need millions of english speakers to sustain the economy and also complete foreign trips easily

The scale of problem is huge, Average chinese passport holders today are unable to fill the immigration forms of other countries so airlines are offering them immigration forms that are in chinese,

The great hurdle for China to become global power is ofcourse english, The entire world has no interest or patience to learn mandarin, By the way Mandarin is the second most difficult language in world.
