Iron and vitamin C works together. Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron which is a mineral. The deficiency of these two can cause iron deficiency anaemia which can be very severe in many cases.
The dietary advice includes intake of citrus fruits as they are rich source of vitamin c amd for iron one cam add jaggery and green leafy vegetable in his diet.
If it reaches its toxic level it can lead to iron overload. Excessive iron can cause haemocidrosis of liver. It can even deposit on heart and brain causing malfunctioning of vital organs which can b ex life threatening. Iron overload can occur due to multiple blood transfusions also.
Vitamin c is a water soluble vitamin.
It is measured in micrograms.
