Question
Pham can work as many or as few hours as she wants at the college bookstore for $9 per hour. But due to her hectic schedule, she has just 15 hours per week that she can spend working at either the bookstore or other potential jobs. One potential job, at a cafe, will pay her $12 per hour for up to 6 hours per week. She has another job offer at a garage that will pay her $10 an hour for up to 5 hours per week. And she has a potential job at a daycare center that will pay her $8.50 per hour for as many hours as she can work. If her goal is to maximize the amount of money she can make each week, how many hours will she work at the bookstore? WORK IS NEEDED TO GET TO ANSWER, PLZ!
Explanation / Answer
see here if pham works 15 hour at the college bookstore she will manage $9*15 = $135.
if pham works for 6 hours at a cafe she will manage $12*6= 72
if at garage for 5 hours then $ 10*5 = $ 50
at garage and at cafe in total she can work at max 11 hours earning = $72 + $ 50= $ 122
she still has 4 hours left for the week that sh can work at college store earning=$9*4= $36
then her total earnings will be $122+ $36= $158.
she should not work at daycare at all as it is offering only $8.5
so pham should work only 4 hours a week at college store...
