Question
I keep calculating this and keep getting the wrong answer can someone please help me ? I've been using the eqns in other examples I've seen and Its still not right. Please Detail solution with the Corect answer, because I would really like to know what im doing wrong,
Parallel rays of monochromatic light with wavelength 594nm illuminate two identical slits and produce an interference pattern on a screen that is 75.0cm from the slits. The centers of the slits are 0.640 mm apart and the width of each slit is 0.434 mm.
A.) If the intensity at the center of the central maximum is 3.80
Explanation / Answer
Y = mLR/d
at y = 9mm,
m= 9mm*0.434mm/568nm*0.75
m=9
now
d sinA = 9*568nm
sinA = 0.016
A=0.91 deg
I= Io cos^0.91
I =4.99 *10^-4 same as that central maximum
