Question
Please someone help me with this one as soon as possible.
It's URGENT!!!
Also, make sure please answer all those questions and explain well in one long paragraph.
Few days ago i have read an article about babies.Which states that : babies are born to be good suggests that they have a sense of good. Then, somewhat different picture of infants appear to choose others. In this case a stuffed bear, who likes a similar food suggesting that maybe there is an inherent genetic predisposition to prefer people who are similar. There is an another experiment and that was regarding sharing, young children do not seem to care about being fair until they are older when adolescents seem to be willing to take a smaller share and give a larger share to another person. Now, basically the question comes to your mind that is whether there is a predisposition to like others from the same group and is the foundation for people to easily become prejudiced through there experiences. In clear words, the word predisposition does not mean we will become prejudice it may mean we have the inherent mechanism to use our experiences to develop prejudices in groups and out groups. Also, even bullying. So, do prejudices mean we will be more obedient, does this make it easier to become evil, to affect our dispositions, to affect our roles in the jobs we take? What is your opinion and thoughts about it? What are your questions and is it easy to become prejudice and begin to discriminate watch the A Class Divided?
Explanation / Answer
Prejudice as a "feeling, favorable or unfavorable, toward a person or thing, prior to, or not based on, actual experience". Prejudice is an inflexibility in the reaction to the target person whereby the responses to the target are not based on the target’s behaviors or characteristics (good or bad) but instead are based on the target’s membership in a group. Prejudice is most often negative, although it is also possible to be positively prejudiced. We have seen that social categorization is a basic part of human nature and one that helps us to simplify our social worlds, to draw quick (if potentially inaccurate) conclusions about others, and to feel good about ourselves. In many cases, our preferences for ingroups may be relatively harmless. We may prefer to socialize with people who share our race or ethnicity for instance, but without particularly disliking the others. But categorizing others may also lead to prejudice and discrimination, and it may even do so without our awareness. Because prejudice and discrimination are so harmful to so many people, we must all work to get beyond them. Prejudices does affect our role in any job, for example. working in same group but my preference will always be towards those who are similar to me in either religious cntent or race content. It is very easy to become prejudice and begin to discriminate as its our human tendency to work and live with those who are similar to us and when that similarity is majority we tend to become powerful and discrimate the minority leading to more prejudice.
