Write a multiple-choice/matching question that tests each method and the organism that uses it. Be sure to include ALL examples from the Powerpoint Define mutualism and give an example of a mutualism. Be sure to include what obligatory and facultative mutualisms are. What kind of mutualism do you expect in this drawing labeled B?Explanation / Answer
Let know first
Mutualism : A symbiotic relation in between two organism so that they could survive. eg. Lichen, Legumes plant with rhizobia erc.
This is of two kind:---
A). Obligatory : this is necessary that both organism should stay together to help themselves. They Can not survive without each other. For example: Mycorhizzal association in Pinus tree, Ants relation with Acasia plant erc.
B). Facultative mutualism: Both can survive without each other. eg. Crow helps Rhinoceros(Protoco-operation) erc.
In B). Diagram there is Obligatory mutualism in between Ants and Acacia plants where Ants protect the tree from pathogen and in turn tree provides shelter and nutrients for Ants.
