I need specific answer to this case study I know it is microcytic anemia but which kind? with explanation!?

An 18 y.o. woman came to her physician for a routine physical examination before entering college. Family history was unremarkable. Her personal history revealed that she had begun menstruation at the age of 13 and had experienced no complaints other than cramping. Other than an occasional cold, she stated that she was perfectly healthy. On physical examination, she appeared to be well nourished and looked her state age. Her overall muscle tone was poor but she explained that she "wasn't very athletic." Her pulse was 80 beat per minute, and her blood pressure was within normal limits. Results of laboratory testing included: WBC 11.4 x 10° /L Microcytes, some hypochromic cells, and polychromatophilic RBCs were seen on the peripheral blood smear. Hgb 8.0 g/dl MCV 79 1fl RDW 14.8 PLT 400 x 10°/L The reticulocyte count was 2.0% What is the most likely explanation of this presentation?

Explanation / Answer

It is hypochromic microcytic anemia where there shows the results of less MCV and Hemoglobin. The red blood cells are in low levels and appear in both in both smaller and paler than normal.Even the indication of reticulocyte count shows it as hypochromic microcytic anemia.
