Question

Hey I cannot get part c for this question.

A balloon is filled with 4.65 liters of helium at a pressure of 1.05 atm and a temperature of 26.0

A balloon is filled with 4.65 liters of helium at a pressure of 1.05 atm and a temperature of 26.0 degree C. (a) Find the mass of the helium. (b) Find the buoyant force on the balloon if it is placed in the atmosphere with air pressure at 1.00 atm and temperature at 22.5 degree C. (c) Find the acceleration of the balloon if the rubber has a mass of 4.00 g. upward

Explanation / Answer

C)

Here ,

mass = 0.789 gm

mass = 0.789 *10^-3 kg

Buyoant force , Fb = 0.055 N

Now, using second law of motion ,

Fb - mg = ma

0.055 - 0.789 *10^-3 *9.8 = 0.789 *10^-3 *a

a = 59.9 m/s^2

the accleration of the ballon is 59.9 m/s^2
