Question
I would say B is correct but (the equation in my book t=N*i*A*Bsin(phi) its the same instead of nxB its just sin(phi)?) the smaller the N value the more acurate torque value so it would make a good approxmation
my book also states any planar loop can be approximated with a larger number of rectangular loops
Am i on the right track?
Does Eq. 32-35 hold true for single-turn wire loops in shapes other than rectangles? It is a reasonable approximation for shapes close to rectangular. It is a reasonable approximation for any shape that lies in a plane. It is true for shapes of sufficient symmetry, such as equilateral triangles or circles. It is true for all shapes that lie in a plane.Explanation / Answer
Yes, the correct option is ( B )
This torque tends to rotate the coil about its own axis .Its value changes with angle between the plane of the coil and the direction of the magnetic field. Torque is well existed when the coil ( or any shape ) confined in a plane.
The given equation for torque is valid for plane loops of any shape.
