Question
In Drosophila melanogaster, vestigial (short) wings (W) are caused by a recessive mutant gene that independently assorts with a gene pair that influences body hair. Recessive Hariy (h) results in a hairy body. A cross (P1) is made between a fly with normal wings and a hairy body and a fly vestigial wings and a normal body. All F1 flies were normal (normal wings and normal bodies) The phenotypically normal F1 files ( normal wings and normal body) were crossed among each other and 1024 F2 file were produced.a) Write the phenotypic ratio for F2 generation
b) write the actual number ( not ratio) for each possible phenotype in the F2 feneration
Explanation / Answer
fly with normal wings and a hairy body-------------------WS
vestigial (short) wings (W) are caused by a recessive mutant gene-----------ws
