Question

Submit the following : Once MET levels have assigned to all segments of the 24 hour period , you will: Total each MET column Put the 15 minute caloric of each MET level by the number of times they were at that MET level Record the subtotal caloric output Add subtotala to get an estimate of total energy expenditure for the 24 hour period Focus on these questions : What kinds of difficulties did you have using the physical activity record? How these difficulties might be overcome with clients ? What surprised you about your estimated caloric expenditure? To what do you attribute your estimated caloric expenditure if it was higher than you expected ? Explanation / Answer

Answer : one MET is defined as 1 kcl / kg/hour and is roughly equivalent to the energy cast of sitting quitely .aMET. also is defoned as oxygen uptake in ml /kg/min with one MET is equal to the oxygen cost of sitting quitely ,equivalent to 3.5 ml/kg/min.

ex: 1MET is the rate of energy expenditure while while at rest .

-1) difficulties with physical activity record :

- lack of motivation

- lack of time to record the physical activity in records.

- it is cost effective.

- no cognitive involvement.

- difficult to maintain physical activity record .

- accuracy also less because ,client may tell false information about his physical activity record.

2) how can we overcome the difficulties with clients:

- motivate the people ti increase the positive perception regarding physical activity

- rely solid data to clients .

- kindly observe the eating behaviour , activity time ,frequency ,duration of activity.

- observe the clients how effective they are.

3) if it is normal, its ok there is no problem ,if incase it is higher than my expected expenditure the clients are doing their physical activity ,i feel .

in another way i feel that there is mistake in the physical activity record of client.

4) of it is higher than my expected expenditure , i will check once again tally the data , i will try to change the caloric values by clear observation.
