A) Calculate the velocity just before it reaches the floor

B) Calculate the velocity just after it leaves the floor on its way back up.

C) Calculate its acceleration during contact with the floor if that contact lasts 3.50 ms.

D) How much did the ball compress during its collision with the floor, assuming the floor is absolutely rigid?

A) v1 = -sqrt(2*g*h)

= -sqrt(2*9.8*1.55)

= -5.51 m/s (here negative sign indicates -y direction)

B)
v2 = sqrt(2*g*h2)

= sqrt(2*9.8*1.21)

= +4.87 m/s (here positive sign indicates +y direction)

C) a = (v2 - v1)/t

= (4.87 - (-5.51))/(3.5*10^-3)

= 2.966*10^3 m/s^2

d) Let d is the comression of the ball.

d = (0^2 - v1^2)/(2*a)

= (0^2 - 5.51^2)/(2*2.966*10^3)
