Question

Please I need help with my Physics Lab analysis question. I need a full explantion of every answer because this is a lab report.

Subject is Conservation of Mechanical Energy.

Q.1:Was mechanical energy conserved in each set of data? Explain how you used your graphs to arrive at your conclusion. If mechanical energy was not conserved, name the two most significant ways it was lost? Be specific and remember that you are talking about energy here, not force.

Graph.2

For experiment 1 the track on one side was 0.032m. then it was 0.053m

Q.2: How did changing the side of the block that the track rests on affect the potential energy? How did changing the side of the block affect the kinetic energy? For each one, is this what is scientifically expected? Explain. Be specific (do not just say “because energy is conserved” or “because one is converted into the other”– think about what is happening in the system). For experiment 1 the track on one side was 0.032m. then it was 0.053m

Explanation / Answer

In Both the Plots the Total Mechanical energy is conserved, This can be observed from the relation that is satisfied through out the both curves, KE+PE = Total Mechanical Energy (TME)

In the second experiment, The potential energy at agiven time is decreased and accoedingly KE is increased resulting in conservation of TME
