Explanation / Answer

According to the graph, the birthrate decreases and the death rate starts increasing in the post industrial stage. So the answer is stage 4.

The factors which influence the birth rate are:

a) Lower infant mortality rate- The key factor in determining the growth rate. Its the rate of death of infants. The lower the number of death of infants, the greater the number of infants surviving, adding to the birth rate

b) Improved family planning - It helps to reduce the excess fertility rate and thus lowers the birth rate

c) Improved health care reduces the mortality rate ad thus adds up to the number of people survivinng.

d) Children less of an economic ward and thus can afford education and health care. So this also adds up to the birth rate.

All the options do play a role in determining the birth rate
