Question
For the Ts 8 POD6-PROBLEM 3. Concepts Vectors vs. Scalars Car A travels due east at 40 km h, and Car B travels north at 40 km h. Both cars travel for one hour. Compare the following for each car a. Car A's velocity is Explain:-- that of Car B. (the same as, different than) 1 b. Car A's average velocity is Explain: that of Car B (the same as, different than) c. Car A's speed is Explain: as Car B is (the same as, different than) POD6-PROBLEM 4. Concepts-vector changes Can a particle with constant speed be accelerating? What if it has constant velocity? Explain carefully POD6-PROBLEM 5. Vector Knowledge Does multiplying by a scalar change the direction of a vector? What does it change? How is the vector different? Give/ show an example. PHYS 240 SP 18-POD 1-2Explanation / Answer
Given that,
velocity , vector vA = 40 i km/h
vector vB = 40 j km/h
(a)
Car A's velocity is different than that of car B.
Beacuse velocity also has direction and their directions are different.
(b)
Car A's average velocity is different than that of car B.
Because, average velocity = Displacement / time elapsed
and their displacements are in different directions.
(c)
Car A's speed is same as Car B.
(vA = vB = 40 km/h)
