1.Mr. S was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in severe head trauma and a spintal cord injury in the sacral area. Since the accident, he has had difficulty swallowing his food.SCI symptoms usually appear immediately after the injury. However, symptoms can develop slowly, if an infection or tumor is gradually increasing pressure on the spinal cord. The PNS and SNS are part of the ANS, or autonomic nervous system which is responsiblefor the involuntary functions of the human body.

He has no abdominal pain. Prior to the vomiting, he had difficulty with solid foods causing "fullness" in the stomach and he had been taking only liquids for one week. His heartburn had been aggravated at the time of the "fullness", but antacids did not help and he did not seek medical attention until today. He complains of being dizzy when he stands up. His blood pressure changes from 120/70 when lying to 105/55 when standing, his pulse changes from 100 to 130.

Medicines available over-the-counter are mainly recommended for use in motion sickness and for cases of mild nausea.
