Question
I really need help with these Questions. If you could please share the work/ understanding behind each question, I would appreciate it!
1. A 13 µF capacitor is charged to 80 V and is then connected across a 460 resistor. How much charge is on the capacitor after 5.0 ms?
answer in C
2. What is the force per meter on a straight wire carrying 8 A when it is placed in a uniform magnetic field of 0.02 T? The wire makes an angle of 26 degrees with respect to the magnetic field lines.
answer in N/m
4. An electron travels at a constant speed of 3.50 × 106 m/s into this page. It then enters a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 2.70 × 105 T that points towards the top of this page.
A) What is the maximum magnitude of the magnetic force? answer in N
B) What is the direction of the magnetic force?
a. towards the bottom of this page
b. towards the top of this page
c. into this page
d. towards the right of this page
e. towards the left of this page
f. out of this page
oposite directions, as the drawing indicates. Find the magnitude Iwo long, straight wires are separated by 0.12 m. The wires carry currents of 9.5 A in the net magnetic field at the point A. 0.030 m 120 m 0.060 mExplanation / Answer
1) The time constant is T = R*C = 460 * 13*10^-6 F = 5.98 ms
So the capacitor voltage after 6ms is:
V = 80V * e^(- 5 / 5.98) = 31.59 V
The charge is then Q = C*V = 13*10^-6 F * 31.59 V = 4.1*10^-4 Coulomb
