Question

I need to find the Equiv. Resistance of N pieces connected inparallel. I calculated that 1 piece is = R1*n^-1 and I know that Ineed to add all of these to get the R eq. but because its aconceptual question and I have no numbers I can't figure out away to express this. I've already tried to put
(R1*n^-1) as an answer but it tells me it the answerdoesn't contain the variable . Please help!!?? I need to find the Equiv. Resistance of N pieces connected inparallel. Explanation / Answer

If you have N identical resistors inparallel, the total resistance is just   R /N . This is because... .    1 / Rtot   =   1 /R    + 1 / R    +   1/ R + ...     =     N / R .    Rtot =   R / N . So in your case...      resistance ofone piece = R1 /N         . Resistance of   N   pieces inparallel =    R1 /N2
