What is the magnitude of the magnetic field halfway between thewires if the two wires are separated by a distance of 22 cm andcarry currents in the same direction? The current in one wireis 3 A and the current in the other wire is 9 A.

Given that     Ia = 3A     Ib = 9A     d = 22cm = => d/2 = 11 cm = 0.11m We know that         B1 = o Ia / 2(d/2)            = 4 x 10-7 * 3 / 2 * 0.11            = 5.454 x 10-6 T       B2 = o Ib / 2(d/2)            = 4 x 10-7 * 9 / 2 * 0.11            = 16.36 x 10-6 T Therefore B = B2 - B1 = 10.90 x 10-6 T =10.90T
