I need to know HOW he got x = vt + 1/2at^2 as well as how a = -gsin().

He most definitely skipped some steps and went right to the result and I need an in depth explanation as to how he got this from scratch..from the start. I know it deals with a derivative somewhere but I tried to do this on my own and I have absolutely no idea how he/she got to this result.

As shown in the figure, the net force on the puck is given by                      F = mg sin But we know the formula for the force when we know the mass (m) and acceleration (a) as                     F = ma From the above two equations we get                     ma = mg sin               from this we have, a = g sin According to the porblem the puck goes to up, so the acceleration is given by                   a = - g sin From the Newton's equations of motion we have an equation for distance when we know the acceleration and time is given by the following                                  x = vt + 1/2at^2 This is the equation which he use in the problem.
