Question
I'm working on a projectile angle problem for beginnersphysics. It is for a ball that is kicked. I havesuccessfully found the time taken to reach max height, the maxheight, the time of travel before the ball hits the ground and thedisplacement-how far away will the ball hit the ground. Nowthe problem asks for the velocity vector and the accelerationvector at the max height. I don't understand what the problemis asking me for. Do I just draw an arrow or should I usev=change in x/ change in t and a=change in v/change int? I'm working on a projectile angle problem for beginnersphysics. It is for a ball that is kicked. Explanation / Answer
At maximum height only horizontal component of velocitypresent .vertical component is zero Let the projectile makes an angle with horizontalinitially. Then velocity vector at maximum height = ( v cos )i + 0 j At maximum height accleration act only in y direction and isequal to accleration due to gravity and the horizontal component ofaccleration is zero So,Accleration vector a = 0 i + g j where g = accleration due to gravity i ,j = unit vectorsin horizontal and vertical directions respectively
