Two children hang by their hands from the same tree branch. Thebranch is straight, and grows out from the tree trunk at an angleof 27.3° above the horizontal. One child,with a mass of 39.6 kg, is hanging1.25 m along the branch from the treetrunk. The other child, with a mass of 32.4 kg, is hanging 2.07 m from the tree trunk. What is the magnitudeof the net torque exerted on the branch by the children? Assumethat the axis is located where the branch joins the tree trunk andis perpendicular to the plane formed by the branch and thetrunk.

The answers i've gotten have been...920, 870, 1130, 1140, and 1142NM, but webassign won't accept those answers, what am i doingwrong?

torque for each is     distance * weight *sine of angle between the branch and the vertical (becausethe forces are vertical) . So...   total torque = 1.25 * 39.6* 9.80 * sin(90-27.3) + 2.07 * 32.4 * 9.80 *sin(90-27.3) = .                              =   1015 N-m
