We want to know wh happens to the brightness of bulb D when the switch is closed. Q8. Using your knowledge of cireuits, what should happen to the brightness of bulb D when the switch is closed? (You shouldn't have to measure anything unless you want to. See if you can figure this out from your understanding of circuits and the behavior of current and voltages.) resistors place the three resistors in a circuit in the positions indicated by bulbs A, B and D

Explanation / Answer

Answering question 6 , Please ask other questions seperately.

The brightness of the Bulb A will decrease. We are basing our prediction on following calculations.

Let each resistance be R. Initial resistance was 3R/2 , when switch is closed resistance become 4R/3.

So the current flowing through bulb A will decrease. and as the net resistance is decreased current across D will increase , increasing its brigthness.'

Hence Brightness of A will decrease and D will increase.
