Explanation / Answer

a)

Since the magnetic field is clockwise, using right hand rule for magnetic field for current carrying conductor, place the right hand around the conductor with thumb straight. Now the thumb shoes direction of current in the conductor and curved fingers show direction of magnetic fild.

we get,

Direction of I3 is into the page. Same as I2.

b)

Ampere’s circuital law,

B.dl= µ0Inet

B.dl= µ0(I2+I3)

2.00*10^-5 =(4*10^-7*(12+I3))

I3= 3.9A = 0.39A
