Major depression which is also called as clinical depression or Major depressive disorder is may occurred when a person an isolated manic or hypomanic symptoms. This is also inherited through generations. The patient of this disorder feels fatigue, feelings of worthlessness, indecisiveness, weakened concentration, Insomnia or hypersomnia, decrease in interest in doing work, significant loss of weight and restlessness. It mainly affects adults and women. Treatments like antidepressants pills like serotonin reuptake inhibitors, bupropion, erotonergic noradrenergic reuptake inhibitors and mirtazapinc. Nonpharmacological treatments like vagus nerve stimulation and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and cognitive, interpersonal and behavioral psychotherapy, are also used for treatment of this disease.

Bipolar disorder which also known as manic depression. This is a treatable illness. This is marked by extreme changes in thought, energy mood, and behavior. As a manic depression, there is alternation occurs in between a person’s high and depression mood. People, who have bipolar disorder, may feel bipolar depression usually. This is also gained by disability, behavior and suicidal thinking. To treat this disease, treatments are generally focused on bringing patients’ mood normal. This has related to stabilization of mood. This is achieved by improved social and occupational functioning and lessening of subthreshold symptoms. Drugs like chlorpromazine and lithium with combination of antiepileptics like risperidone, haloperidol and Olanzapine are primarily used to treat this disorder.
