Question
A differential pressure gauge mounted on a vessel shows 185 lbf/in2 and a local barometer gives atmospheric pressure as 0.96 atm. Find the absolute pressure inside the vessel. I know 14.696 lbf/in2 = 1 atmAm I supposed to just add the two pressure values to get an absolute? i.e. Is Pvessel = Pgauge + Patm ?

Explanation / Answer
yes, that is correct..put it like this P_absolute = P_local +/- P_differential someone already answered
