Question
I need help with the mechanics of drawing a bode plot. If I have a signal that goes through several cascaded amp stageswith an input of 10 mV over a frequency range of (0 to 10 Hz). Saythat the signal goes through 4 stages the first one with again of 20dB the next one with a loss of -6dB, the nextone with a gain of 40 dB and the last one is a low passfilter with a cuttoff frequency of 100 Hz and unity gain. Ithink to get the total gain for the entire circuit I can just addall of the gains in decibels (I think), but I have no clue how tobegin drawing the bode plot. any help would be appreciated thanks I need help with the mechanics of drawing a bode plot. First begin to draw your axis. X axis is frequency and Y axis isyour dB value which is 20log(Vout/Vin). And then just draw it exactly how you described it above. connectpoints with straight lines. This will be your approximation becausein reality where slope of lines changes there's a curve and not asharp change. Hope this helps.
