PLEASE SHOW WORK
The Voltage divider as shown in following figure is a circuit for a lot of measurement system. The resistance R1, a purchase part which has the nominal resistance 4000 (Ohm) with 1% variation, that is, 4000 plusminus 40 (Ohm). R2 is a thermistor with coefficients a = 1.403 times 10-4,b = 2.373 times 10-4,c = 9.827 times 10-8. One set of measurement is V in = 4.400(V) and V 0 = 2.598(V). What are the possible maximum and minimum resistances R2 due to the variation R1? What are the possible maximum and minimum temperatures of the thermistor due to the variation R1?Explanation / Answer
For the values Vin = 4400 and Vo =2598......you got Vo=[ R2/(R1+R2) ]*Vin ...this gives R2 = 1.44R1 ......putting the maximum and minimum values of R1 as 4040 and 3960......you the max and min values or R2 as ......5817.6 and 5702.4.........
Now , 1/T = a+b*ln(R2) +c*ln(R2)^3.........
and on substituting the max and min values of R2 ....the respective temperatures can be obtained
.these are......443.2 and 442.2 K...........
