Such condition may arise in the following cases:
i) when there is a condition of androdioecious, in which the plant has male flowers on some and bisexual flowers on others.
ii) when there is a condition of androgynomonoecious, in which the plant has male, female as well as bisexual flowers. This condition is also known as trimonoecious.
iii) when there is a condition of dichogamous, where in a plant the sexes develop at different times producing pollens when the stigmas are not receptive. Some dichogamous plants are bisexual while others are unisexual.
iv) when there is a condition of gynodioecious, the plants have hermaphrodite flowers and female flowers on different plants.
v) Sometimes, the flowers are imperfect, where both the sexes are present but one is non functional.
