(b) Assuming the capacitor C is uncharged when the switch is closed, what will be the voltage on the capacitor after 12.5 ms? v= (c) Again, assuming the capacitor C is uncharged when the switch is closed, how long will it take to charge the capacitor to a voltage V = 1.55 V?

1. (A) time constant = R C

where R = R1 + R2 = 401 ohm


T = (401) (182 x 10^-6)

T = 0.073 s Ot 73 ms

2. For charging of capacitor,

V = V0 [1 - e^(-t/T)]


V = 3 [ 1 - e^(-12.5/73)]

V = 0.47 Volt

3. 1.55 = 3 [1 - e(-t/0.072)]

-t / 0.072 = ln(1 - (1.55/3))

t = 0.052 s
