Question
Can someone give me feed back on my answer here. I answered the way I did because the question made a point of saying side chains for secondary proteins, when in secondary proteins are formed due to the H-bonding of the polypeptide backbone, no the side chainsWhat do you think. (3pts) Please state if you AGREE or DISAGREE with the following, & provide your reasoning: In proteins, secondary structure elements such as alpha helices and beta sheets form because of favorable interactions between sidechains. Disagree, the secondary structure is formed from hydrogen bonding between the repeating segments of the polypeptides backbone and does not involve the R groups of the proteins. Van Der Waals, ionic and other covalent bonding does not occur in the secondary structure of a protein. Favorable interactions are seen in tertiary structures where the R groups of each individual protein contributes to its structure from Hydrogen-bonding, ionic bonding, Van Der Waals and disulfide bonds and cause similar R groups to cluster together.
Explanation / Answer
*Your answer looks quite fitting and explainataion is clear. I feel you have answerder it correctaly.
