There is a uniform magnetic field B = 5.0 T directed out of the page. Electrical energy is being dissipated in the 6.0 at a rate of 24.0 W. What is the speed (v) of the bar?

           induced emf on the bar = Blv ...............(1)         Here   magnetic field B=   5.0 T   , l = length of the bar   = 0.2m          power across the resistance   P   =  2 /R              Given     P   = 24.0W , Resistance   R = 6.0      Then      =   sqrt ( PR)   = 12 V                   From equation (1)                       velocity of the bar    v =   / Bl   =    12V / ( 5.0T * 0.2 m)   =   12 m/s
