A horizontal wire bolted to the wall 0.51 m above the base of the rod holds the rod at an angle of 25^o above the horizontal. The wire is attached to the top of the rod. Find the tension in the wire.</p>
<p>The answer is 39 N.</p>

given that    m= 3.7kg L = 1.2m the vertical distance above the base rod r = 0.51m a) for the system in equlibrium the net torque is zero        T * 0.51m -( mg)L/2 cos250 = 0             0.51m T = ( mg)L/2 cos250                     T = 3.9m
