Question
I need someone who can give me step by step help on #6) I have a test tomorrow and the teacher for me is hard to learn from. He has no set of steps he follows and his work when explaining is all over the place. Could someone explain in detail what formulas I need, and work it out step by step? This would be greatly appreciated. My test tomorrow is on 1) 1) rotation where alpha=0 2) rotation where alpha does not = 0 3) energy (momentum and collision) 4) energy (atwoods machines). Where do I start and what equations are needed????
Explanation / Answer
1) line length = 700-5 = 695 m
speed = 15 m/sec
thus time taken = 695/15 = 46.3333 sec
2) length = 695 m
perimeter = 2*pi*r = 2*3.14*0.08
revolutions = 695/2pi*r = 1383.35987
3) angular velocity = v/r = 15/0.08 = 187.5 rad/sec
angular acc=0
period T = time taken/number of revolutions = 46.3333/1383.35987 = 0.0334933 sec
frequency = 1/T = 29.85672 rev/sec
4) a= v^2/r = 15^2 / 0.08 = 2812.5 m/sec^2 = 286.9898 gees
5) moment of enertia = mr^2 = 2*(0.08^2) = 0.0128 kg m^2
w= 2*pi*rev/sec
angumar momentum = Iw = 0.0128*3.14*2* 29.85672 = 2.4000
