Question
please help me
In a above figure, a thin converging lens of focal length 15.0cm forms an image of the a square abcd, which has a height hc = hb = 12.0cm. The square lies between the distances pd = 24.0cm and Pa = 35.0cm from the lens. Here a', b', c', and d' represent the respective corner of the image. Let qa represent the image distance for points a' and b', qd represent the image distance for points c' and d',h'b represent the height of the image at b', and h'c represent the height of the image at c'. Find (a)qa, (b) qd, (c) h'b, and (d)h'c.
Explanation / Answer
you need to individually consider for a, and d.so,
a)(1/35)+(1/v)=1/15
or qa=26.25 cm
b)(1/24)+(1/v)=1/15
or v=40 cm.
c)hb=12*(26.25/35)
=9 cm
d)hc=12*40/24
=20 cm
